Take Good Care of Your Immune System

You can strengthen your immune system by eating well and using supplements to give your body the nutrients it needs to fight infection. People with HIV are often found to have low levels of certain nutrients. Sometimes the drugs used to treat HIV, along with the infections caused by HIV, reduce the levels of nutrients the body can absorb.

It is important to talk to an HIV-knowledgeable nutritionist to help you decide what kind of foods you should eat and which supplements you should take. Call our nutritionist to discuss your concerns. Talk to the pharmacist, nutritionist, nurse and/or doctor who are familiar with the medications you are taking before taking any supplements.
